Questions frequently asked at AVSForum about the BDP-95.
The BDP-95 shares the same playback platform as the BDP-93, therefore most questions concerning it that do not revolve around its 'optimized analog audio performance' are likely the same as those addressed within the BDP-93 FAQ pages.

Are the DACs in the BDP-95 better than the ones in the BDP-83SE?

The BDP-83SE uses Sabre32 Premier ES9006 for the dedicated stereo output and the Sabre32 Ultra ES9016 for the multi-channel analog outputs.
The BDP-95 uses Sabre32 Reference ES9018 for both dedicated stereo (analog and RCA) and multi-channel analog outputs.
Thereby, the BDP-95 is superior to the BDP-83SE.

Does anyone know how the balanced audio out (XLR) is wired?

Answer from OPPO: The BDP-95's XLR follows the EIA standard RS-297-A, so pin2 is hot, pin3 is cold. Pin1 is ground.
