* Test results are based on BDP10X-77-0827 firmware, subject to change through future firmware releases.
* Tests are performed using USB drive and data disc, the video file and the subtitle file needs to be the same name and located in the same folder.
* Results through DLNA/SMB sharing may be different, depends on the server's capability and the customer's setting.

My files are not sorted when accessed by the BDP-103/105

The files may or may not be sorted on the display, depend on how they are accessed by the BDP-103/105:
  • Local storage (USB port): Currently only "alphabetical" order is supported. Later "modified date" may also be supported.
    • The actual sorting result may be slightly different when switching between List View and Category View (Genre/Artist/Album), depending on how the special characters are positioned (from ASCII table).
  • DLNA (My Network): files are not sorted by the player. Depending on the capability/setting of the DLNA servers, different sorting results may be observed.
  • SMB/SAMBA (My Network): files are not sorted by the player. Files may be sorted by the SMB/SAMBA server.
    • On Linux (Ubuntu) server, placing "vfs objects = dirsort" under "[global]" in "/etc/samba/smb.conf" and restarting the server, the files will be sorted (may requires Samba 3.3.3 or later).

Gapless Playback status on BDP-103/105

The Gapless feature has been added since the firmware BDP10X-67-1204, it is still an experimental feature due to:
  • Only apply to WAV, FLAC and APE audio formats. More formats, like DSF/DFF, may be supported later.
  • Only apply to music files stored on the USB flash drive(s) and external USB hard drive(s).
  • Only limited play control functions are supported: PAUSE, PLAY, STOP, NEXT, PREV, and GOTO (only for WAV).
  • Enable Gapless: navigate into the music folder in HOME -> MUSIC -> DEVICE, highlight the first file you are interested, press the OPTION button and select the "Gapless Playback" item, the player automatically enters Gapless mode for the current and the following files.
    • When the current music is playing, the player will simultaneously analyze the next track and check if it is qualified for Gapless Playback. If not, the player automatically returns to regular playback mode.
    • If Gapless mode is successfully applied to the current file, a "gapless play" text will show in the Now Playing screen, right above the time progress bar.
  • Criteria for Gapless Playback check:
    • WAV file: #channel, #sampling-rate, #bit-depth.
    • APE file: Tag version, compression ratio, #blocks per frame, #channel, #sampling-rate, #bit-depth.
    • FLAC file: #channel, #sampling-rate, #bit-depth. (may also be affected by the frame size and block size)
